Waiting on Wednesday: The Faerie Ring by Kiki Hamilton

Orphaned and picking pockets in London’s Charing Cross station to support not only herself, but her ‘family’ of orphans, sixteen year-old Tiki steals the Queen’s ring and thinks she’s solved their problems.

That is, until Rieker, a pickpocket from the North End, suspects her in the theft and tells her that the ring is really a reservoir that holds a truce between the British and Faerie courts.

When he warns her that the fey will do anything, including murder, to recover the ring, Tiki is unsure whether to believe him or not. To complicate matters, Rieker seems to know something about the unusual birthmark on Tiki’s wrist. But when Tiki and her family are threatened the game changes.

Yes it’s another faerie book to add to my collection, what can I say, anything with faeries in it instantly draws me in, I love me some faeries! Plus it’s also set in Victorian London during the 1800s which I personally find is a really interesting time in history with all the changes that were occurring. Alas there is no cover as of yet, I wonder what it's going to look like, hmmmm ....

You all should definitely check out Kiki’s blog especially the Praise for the Fairy Ring page, this book is receiving some pretty amazing reviews. I don’t want to wait until October 2011 it’s so far away L

I've just begun my first fairy book ever yesterday and I'm totally into it, plus I went to London this summer, so this sounds like the perfect book for me! Thanks for the recommend.

This one sounds absolutely fantastic. And I'm not put off by the fairies at all, and even more excited by the fact that it's set in Victorian London. Great pick!

I'm reading a fairy book right now, but it is definitely a children's book and nothing like this. If I read this, I may learn something about Victorian England. A subject I'm not at all familiar with.
