Book Blogger Hop #18 & Follow Friday #12

Jennifer also asks us hopper’s to answer a new question each week, so today’s question for the Hop is (*drum roll please*):

If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?

I have never picked up a book if it’s in a series and I haven’t read the first one yet, I always have to start with the first book in the series, I’m a bit of a stickler for this.

ParaJunkee also asks us follower’s to answer a question each week, so today’s question for the Follow is:

What is your usual monthly book budget?

I generally purchase new releases (for older books I mooch on down to the library) so it can vary, one month may have lots of new releases coming out which I really want so I probably spend more on books that month compared to a month where there aren't that many books released which appeal to me. However, if I had to pick a dollar value I’d say I could spend anything from $20 to $100 a month on books.

Hopping through. My budget varies widely too. I spend between $0 and 50 usually.

I'll be honest and say I have never actually counted how much a spent in a month. I think the most I spent in a week was around $90. I read through a whole series of books that week.

There has been a time or two where I've read a book series out of order. Usually those books can stand alone.

I NEVER read series out of order either. And my book budget varies as well.. I really don't know what I spend :)

Hopping by on the Friday Follow, new follower :-) I budget much more discerningly now than in the past, because once I tabulated how much I spent on books last year, even textbooks, it was quite insane lol

I like your method of book budgeting! It's something I need to start doing - going to the library for older books and buying newer books. I just hate not owning things :( Blah! Anyway, I'm an old follower - have a great weekend!
