Waiting on Wednesday: Bumped by Megan McCafferty

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" is:

Bumped by Megan McCafferty

Release Date: April 26th 2011
Publisher: HarperCollins
Age Group: Young Adult

When a virus makes everyone over the age of eighteen infertile, would-be parents are forced to pay teen girls to conceive and give birth to their children, making teens the most prized members of society.

Sixteen-year-old identical twins Melody and Harmony were separated at birth and had never met until the day Harmony shows up on Melody’s doorstep. Until now, the twins have followed completely opposite paths. Melody has scored an enviable conception contract with a couple called the Jaydens. While they are searching for the perfect partner for Melody to bump with, she is fighting her attraction to her best friend Zen, who is way too short for the job.

Harmony has spent her whole life in religious Goodside, preparing to be a wife and mother. She believes her calling is to bring Melody back to Goodside and convince her that “pregging” for profit is a sin. But Harmony has secrets of her own that she is running from.

When Melody is finally matched with the world-famous, genetically flawless Jondoe, both girls’ lives are changed forever. A case of mistaken identity takes them on a journey neither could have ever imagined, one that makes Melody and Harmony realize they have so much more than just DNA in common.

I love the sound of this book, it’s like nothing I have read before, so unique. Once I heard about it (thanks to Kirsti @ The Story Siren - once again!) I knew I had to add this to my to-read when released pile. It will be really interesting to read how McCafferty deals with the whole subject of paying teens to conceive which could be tricky. Also I just love the cover how cute is it?

Well that’s my “waiting on” pick, what's yours this week?

Ohhhhh, that sounds good! Children of Men meets Handmaid's Tale meets EasyA! Adding that to my TBR list! Thanks!
Definitely an intriguing premise. Excellent choice. Thanks!
This one sounds so good (also saw it on The Story Siren, just earlier today!) -- I'm a massive fan of Megan McCafferty's other work, so I'm super excited for it :D

I'm went for Kirsten Hubbard's Like Mandarin this week, but you've already seen that -- thanks for stopping by, earlier! :)
OMG this sounds awesome. This is a new title for me, which makes me doubly excited. Great find.
Great pick Romy. It looks and sounds unique!
Crud. I've completely forgotten what Megan McCafferty has written. :S Riiight. I've been wanting to read the Jessica Darling series in a while. It's probably right up my alley. Too bad I can't seem to get my hands on a copy. :/

I've been kind of ignoring it; since I already had egg today, and more than one dose makes me feel sick to my stomach. The premise sounds great though, and totally different to her previous books. Really wish you'd linked to the Goodreads page. I'm lazy. TBR added! My dog is on my table ROFL. He looks confused, and is staring at my hands typing...
This book sounds awesome!!!!! I must read it.

My pick is here.
I am excited for Bumped, but I'm reluctant about the cover. I don't get it! I mean, NO, that's not true. I do get it. You know. Clearly, an egg = fertility, etc. But it's just so strange looking! Like a giant egg, haha. Anyway, I'm excited for it :) Thanks for sharing!

Here's what I'm waiting for this week :)
Nice pick. My WOW is at The Crowded Leaf.
I'm looking forward to this one too!
This is one of my WoW picks too :) Love the dystopian craze that's going on right now!
Yeah, This one sounds really good! Great pick!

Check out my WOW!
I love this! I'd never heard of it before now and after reading the summary for it I can't wait to get my hands on it. Looks amazing! Great pick.

About Me
Romy @ Lost.in.Stories
Greetings fellow blog readers, welcome to my blog and thank you for stopping by. Now you may be wondering who is lost.in.stories? Well lost.in.stories is also known as Romy, a 23 year old graduate student from Australia who loves to read. I read (maybe devour would be a more appropriate word) largely young adult novels, with a particular love of fantasy and paranormal novels, however I am also a sucker for a good romance.
