In My Mailbox #14

In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by Kristi @ The Story Siren once a week which explores the weekly contents of your mailbox and books bought.

Everything Beautiful by Simmone Howell (Pan Macmillan Australia/November 1, 2008)

I believe in Chloe and chocolate.
I believe the best part is always before.
I believe that most girls are shifty and most guys are dumb.
I believe the more you spill, the less you are.
I don't believe in life after death or diuretics or happy endings.
I don't believe anything good can come from this.

Riley Rose doesn't want to be at Spirit Ranch Holiday Camp. Riley wants to be partying with her best friend Chloe at the beautiful Ben Sebatini's house. She has a plan to get away from the jumpsuit-wearing counsellors, the feel-good mantras, do-gooder campers and the monotonous schedule of team-building exercises and outdoor activities.

But is everything at the Spirit Ranch as it appears? What secrets are waiting for discovery in the abandoned Fraser house? And why doesn't anyone want to talk about the accident that landed the mysterious Dylan in a wheelchair last year?

Everything Beautiful – a love story about the broken and the broken-hearted.

Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley (Pan Macmillan Australia/August 1, 2010)

Lucy is in love with Shadow, a mysterious graffiti artist.

Ed thought he was in love with Lucy, until she broke his nose.

Dylan loves Daisy, but throwing eggs at her probably wasn't the best way to show it.

Jazz and Leo are slowly encircling each other.

An intense and exhilarating 24 hours in the lives of four teenagers on the verge: of adulthood, of HSC, of finding out just who they are, and who they want to be.

A lyrical new YA novel from the award-winning author of Chasing Charlie Duskin and the Gracie Faltrain series.

So yesterday I went to Borders Melbourne Central for an author event with Cath Crowley, Simmone Howell and Fiona Wood, which was really great, I’ll be posting about the event tomorrow (hopefully, I have to finish an assignment first) so keep your eyes peeled, there are going to be photos! Anyway while I was there I bought one of Cath’s books as well one of Simmone’s books, which I’ve been meaning to buy for a while now, but it worked out well because I got them signed (I have a bit of an obsession with getting my books signed).

Well that’s it from me, I hope you guys all had a great week, what books did you receive?

Wow, the AUS cover for Everything Beautiful is pretty cute! Not sure which I like better: this one or the US cover. Also GM looks great! Pretty exciting that you got to go to an author event!
I read Everything Beautiful earlier this year or at the end of last year, and thought it was pretty good, although I wasn't sure that the camp concept is one that we would usually have - it felt more like the American idea of camp rather than Australian church camp. Then again I can only comment in relation to the many, many church camps I have been on.
I haven't heard of the books but they sound interesting! Happy Reading!
Here's what I have got In My Mailbox
I love the first cover!!!
Both of these books look absolutely fabulous. Will definitely be on the look out for them. happy reading.
oh - two very funky books! i know you'll love them.

and so jealous that all the cool events are on in Melbourne! so cool you got to go.

i agree with marg - for some reason everything beautiful didn't have an australian vibe for me - but i still very much liked it :)
Both books sound very interesting! and the covers are lovely
Hey Romy! Awesome mailbox you've got there. Everythign beautiful looks great.

I just wanted to let you know that you've been tagged in an international game of tag.
Of course, you're not obligated to participate, but it's great fun to write a tag post, and I'd love to see your answers.
