Teaser Tuesday #19

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

1. Grab you current read
2. Open to a random page
3. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Today’s teaser is from Torment the second book in the Fallen series. I’m more than halfway through and its only so so for me at this point, I haven’t warmed to any of the characters and I cant’ for the life of me understand Luce’s attraction to Daniel, he’s too controlling and I know he only wants to protect her but I mean he could at least tell her what’s going on, he’s so secretive, which is really very annoying I have no idea what to make of him!

“They could smell it before they could see it: the telltale hickory smoke of a good-sized bonfire. Then, when they were almost at the foot of the steep stairs, they wound around a bend in the rocks and froze as the sparks from a wild orange blaze finally came into view.”

- p. 107, Torment (Fallen #2) by Lauren Kate

Oh and for your viewing pleasure here are two trailers I found on the internets for the book, enjoy!

* I know this is just a video and I’m just being a stickler for correctness but I just have to mention this, in the book Daniel’s wings are supposed to be huge, like I can wrap you up in my huge wings baby!, I’m afraid in this video it appear his wings have shrunk, those puny things couldn’t wrap around anyone

I'm still very iffy about this series. :/

Well, I'll skim your review when you're done with it (spoilers!). Maybe you'll end up loving it.
I haven't read Torment yet. I'm not entirely sure if I should pick it up. I admit I want it more because of the cover than the actual story.

Here’s my teaser.
oops. I put in the wrong code. Sorry!

Here’s my teaser: http://shusky20.blogspot.com/2010/12/teaser-tuesd...
Great teaser! I really liked that book! My TT is at Coffee Table Press
I haven't read this book yet. I'm kind of hesitant with how I liked the first book. You can find my teaser at The Bookish Snob Merry Christmas!
Haha love your comment about his wings. Nice teaser. Mine is at The Crowded Leaf.

Zakiya - My teasers this week
Here is my teaser from Lipstick in Afghanistan by Roberta Gately (Page 1):

"Do you hear it?" The voice was almost a whisper.

Elsa held her breath, and then she heard it too, a faint rustling of footsteps over twigs and leaves. Out of the corner of her eye, she glimpsed several shadowy figures darting through the trees, and when she turned, she saw a glint of sunlight reflecting off the barrel of an assault rifle.

There was no denying it—the Taliban had found them.

Oh, Jesus! she thought. We'll never escape.

Elsa knew the Taliban's ruthless hatred; the death and destruction they wrought was undeniable.

Seized by a sickening wave of fear, she wanted to cry or throw up, but there was no time. She tried to catch Parween's eye, but her friend was looking back, intent on finding the source of the sound.

"Run!" someone shouted, and suddenly, the chase was on.
I have heard and read mixed reviews on this , I think I still want to give these books a try though. Thanks for the great teaser.

My Teaser Tuesday
I haven't read this series but hopefully I'll get around it. My teaser is at http://frosybookreviews.blogspot.com/2010/12/teas...
I haven't read Lauren Kate yet, though both Fallen and Torment are sitting on my shelf. I loved this teaser, though. It was so descriptive! Thanks for sharing!
Interesting teaser. I have seen alot of people reading this series. I have heard some major good things and some also disappointing things. I haven't decided if I am going to read it or not.

Mine is up! Tuesday Teaser
