Teaser Tuesday #18

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

1. Grab you current read
2. Open to a random page
3. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Today’s teaser is from Mercy the first book in a new series by Melbourne (my hometown) author Rebecca Lim. I absolutely loved the first chapter, it was so engrossing, and whilst a book about Angels is not new, Rebecca definitely shows us a new take on Angel mythology which I find refreshing. For those of you who are interested HarperCollins Australia has the first couple of chapters up online to read, click HERE.

“Before I can reach out and hold him to me for another fleeting instant, before I can tell him I want to be found by Luc, now more than ever, Uri’s outline wavers and splinters into infinitesimal motes of light that wink out and are gone. And I am hit again by a wave of loneliness so vast that it feels for a second as if I am the one who has broken apart and cannot be put back together.”

- p. 193, Mercy by Rebecca Lim

I really want to read this novel. That teaser was amazing and showed some great writing. Thanks so much for sharing this!

My Teaser is from Fade by Lisa McMann
Lovely cover. I hope that you are enjoying your book. Wanna see what my Teaser for Tuesday is?
Here is my teaser from Out of Touch by Brandon Tietz (Page vii):

I used to be the kind of guy that would have no problem reading Playboy or Hustler on an airplane, but that me in "the before," and nearly everything has changed since that time in my life a little over a year ago.

This is not a coming of age story.

If that's what you're wanting then I suggest you put this down and read something else: something with a happy ending. Like Penthouse.

Or: the funny pages.

This is me giving you your official warning.

Because where this goes, you might not be ready for.
This sounds like a devastating goodbye...oh wow very intense! Should put that on my wishlist:)
Here is my Teaser!

And don't forget to check out my giveaway. You can choose 1 out of 6 2011 release novels to pre-order. It ends Jan 3rd and is open internationally. Just click...HERE!
Sounds very interesting!
