In My Mailbox #5

In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by Kristi @ The Story Siren once a week which explores the weekly contents of your mailbox and books bought.

Bought:

Fragile Eternity (Wicked Lovely #3) by Melissa Marr (HarperTeen/April 9, 2009)

Seth never expected he would want to settle down with anyone—but that was before Aislinn. She is everything he'd ever dreamed of, and he wants to be with her forever. Forever takes on new meaning, though, when your girlfriend is an immortal faery queen.

Aislinn never expected to rule the very creatures who'd always terrified her—but that was before Keenan. He stole her mortality to make her a monarch, and now she faces challenges and enticements beyond any she'd ever imagined.

In Melissa Marr's third mesmerizing tale of Faerie, Seth and Aislinn struggle to stay true to themselves and each other in a milieu of shadowy rules and shifting allegiances, where old friends become new enemies and one wrong move could plunge the Earth into chaos.

I know what can I say I’m obsessed with this series, once I finished Ink Exchange I immediately hopped online and ordered Fragile Eternity which I’ve already finished, so I’ll be posting my review soon!

Fury by Shirley Marr (Black Dog Books/May 1, 2010)

Let me tell you my story.
Not just the facts I know you want to hear.
If I’m going to tell you my story,
I’m telling it my way.

Strap yourself in...

Eliza Boans has everything.
A big house.
A great education.
A bright future.

So why is she sitting in a police station confessing to murder?

With the Melbourne Writers Festival coming up I was browsing around the website and came upon Shirley Marr’s page, once I read the blurb for her book Fury (from Goodreads of course) I immediately booked tickets to see her talk. I was browsing/lurking around another bookstore today and what luck I found Fury so I thought I better buy and read the book before I go to the festival. Hopefully I may even get her to sign it, yay!

Stargazer (Evernight #2) by Claudia Gray (HarperTeen/March 24,2009)

The vampire in me was closer to the surface...

Evernight Academy: an exclusive boarding school for the most beautiful, dangerous students of all—vampires. Bianca, born to two vampires, has always been told her destiny is to become one of them.

But Bianca fell in love with Lucas—a vampire hunter sworn to destroy her kind. They were torn apart when his true identity was revealed, forcing him to flee the school. Although they may be separated, Bianca and Lucas will not give each other up. She will risk anything for the chance to see him again, even if it means coming face-to-face with the vampire hunters of Black Cross—or deceiving the powerful vampires of Evernight. Bianca's secrets will force her to live a life of lies.

Yet Bianca isn't the only one keeping secrets. When Evernight is attacked by an evil force that seems to target her, she discovers the truth she thought she knew is only the beginning....

I read Evernight a while ago so I thought it was time I’d give the second book in the series a go.

This week was another slow week for me but I am happy to say my intensive stats course has finished the lecture block (finally!) so I should have more time to do what I love, read, read, read oh and also write up some reviews. So stay tuned this week for reviews of Fragile Eternity, Tyger Tyger and Twice Bitten. I hope you guys all had a great week, what books did you receive?

I haven't read Marr's series yet, very unsure whether or not I want to pick it up eventually. Reviews are verrrry mixed...but enjoy!

I'm interested in Fury, however. The cover looks great! Sounds like a book I'd thoroughly enjoy. Hope the execution can live up to the plot. I'll be looking forward to the review!

My IMM of 3 weeks

Well, I'm a follower anyway, so I'll read your review when you post it. :)

I just finished The Sky is Everywhere. I haven't cried that hard in so long. My raw, uncollected thoughts straight after reading the last page are here. It kind of all just poured out. I'll have an official review in the coming week, hopefully.

Ohh, I can't wait to hear what you think of Fury! I still haven't read my copy yet, but am hoping to before MWF (I'm going to the Colonising the Internet panel which Shirley is on).

I really hope Fury will come out in the US one day. It sounds like an intriguing read. I'll just have to keep searching for a way to get it. Book Depository is out of stock at the moment. Happy reading!

Sometimes, slow weeks aren't a bad thing. How did you like Evernight? I've been thinking about starting this series, but haven't read anything one way or the other about it.
