Blurb (taken from Goodreads)
Sick of vampires? So is Meena Harper.
But her boss is making her write about them anyway, even though Meena doesn’t believe in them.
Not that Meena isn’t familiar with the supernatural. See, Meena Harper knows how you’re going to die (not that you’re going to believe her; no one ever does).
But not even Meena’s precognition can prepare her for what happens when she meets—then makes the mistake of falling in love with—Lucien Antonescu, a modern-day prince with a bit of a dark side . . . a dark side a lot of people, like an ancient society of vampire-hunters, would prefer to see him dead for.
The problem is, he already is dead. Maybe that’s why he’s the first guy Meena’s ever met that she could see herself having a future with. See, while Meena’s always been able to see everyone else’s future, she’s never been able look into her own.
And while Lucien seems like everything Meena has ever dreamed of in a boyfriend, he might turn out to be more like a nightmare.
Now might be a good time for Meena to start learning to predict her own future . . .
If she even has one.

The Quickie Review
Insatiable, just another vampire novel you say, oh no it is so much more, Meg Cabot manages to take a genre that is at saturation point in literature at the moment and turn it into something hilariously funny and witty whilst never taking its subject matter too seriously.
The Full Blown Review
Poor Meena, apart from having to deal with her ‘gift’ where she can tell how people are going to die, she’s just found out her lazy good for nothing colleague has gotten the promotion Meena wanted (and deserved), her brother is still mooching around her apartment unable to find a job, her annoying neighbour won’t leave her alone, she has a bad feeling about her pregnant best friends’ baby which is on the way and she’s been told the soap opera she works for wants to liven things up with the addition of a vampire character which she hates with a passion, oh and to top it all off she was just attacked by a hoard of crazy bats. What a day! Things soon look up for Meena when she meets Lucian Antonescu, a vampire who takes a fancy to our heroine. Unfortunately Meena’s happiness is cut short when she finds herself in the middle of a battle between warring brothers, a murder investigation and the Palatine Guard.
I have to say I didn’t expect this book to be as funny as it was, I mean I laughed out loud in some parts, people who saw me reading it on the train must have thought me a bit weird. Meena’s brother was hilarious, especially when he was conversing with Alaric Wulf, a member of the palatine guard who stormed into Meena’s life and never left. Just a bit off point here but I have to mention that Mr. Wulf thought it necessary to name his sword Senor Sticky which for some reason made me laugh every time I read it, even now as I am writing this I am smiling, Senor Sticky, what the!
Throughout the book Cabot managed to seamlessly reference popular culture which I loved whilst also giving us a sprinkling of traditional historical information on Dracula and Transylvania .
Insatiable was written from multiple points of views which I quite enjoyed, we got perspectives from not just Meena and Lucian, but also supporting characters.
Lucian Antonescu was a dark and brooding character who took no crap from no one, lets just say I wouldn’t want to cheese him off (you’ll understand why when you read the book). He hasn’t really felt anything in hundreds of years, but that changes when he meets Meena, he is drawn to her and feels very protective of her, she is his, they are meant to be and he will do anything to protect her.
Meena was a strong character who wasn’t afraid to stand up to people and protect not only the people she loved but also people who she doesn’t even know. The one thing that irked me was how quickly she fell in love with Lucian it was literally less than a day, it was like bam I’m in love. I don’t know about you but I like a little development first. Also it’s hard to discern if Meena is indeed in love with Lucian or that she just thinks she is because Lucian is a vampire and he can work his special vampire mojo on her, this wasn’t really clear to me in the book.
Apart from the main characters, I found myself enjoying the supporting characters such as Jon, Meena’s brother and Mary Lou, Meena’s neighbour who also happens to be a vampire, just as much. I also found these two characters to be the funniest in the book.
The ending was, I guess you could say, different especially compared to other books on vampires that are around at the moment, I’m thinking of you sparkly vampire book. There were lots of loose ends that weren’t tied up and I have to admit I wouldn’t have chosen that ending, I’ll just say I’m Team Lucian and leave it at that, but then with my ending I don’t think there would be another book and there is, so I say bring it on I can’t wait, why does next year have to be so far away.
The Good
* Taking on the vampire genre and turning it into something different.
* The hilariousness (is that a word?) of the book, Senor Sticky, nuns with guns, Jon and May Lou!
* Two words, Jack Bauer (you’ll understand when you read it).
The Not So Good
* The speed at which Meena falls in love with Lucian, is she really in love or is it just because he’s a vampire? This was never really explained in the book.
Rating
4 out of 5
There’s Another Book?!?
Yes indeed there is another book in the series due to be released sometime in 2011.

Forget You by Jennifer Echols (MTV/July 20th 2010)
WHY CAN’T YOU CHOOSE WHAT YOU FORGET . . . AND WHAT YOU REMEMBER?
There’s a lot Zoey would like to forget. Like how her father has knocked up his twenty-four- year old girlfriend. Like Zoey’s fear that the whole town will find out about her mom’s nervous breakdown. Like darkly handsome bad boy Doug taunting her at school. Feeling like her life is about to become a complete mess, Zoey fights back the only way she knows how, using her famous attention to detail to make sure she’s the perfect daughter, the perfect student, and the perfect girlfriend to ultra-popular football player Brandon. But then Zoey is in a car crash, and the next day there’s one thing she can’t remember at all—the entire night before. Did she go parking with Brandon, like she planned? And if so, why does it seem like Brandon is avoiding her? And why is Doug—of all people— suddenly acting as if something significant happened between the two of them? Zoey dimly remembers Doug pulling her from the wreck, but he keeps referring to what happened that night as if it was more, and it terrifies Zoey to admit how much is a blank to her. Controlled, meticulous Zoey is quickly losing her grip on the all-important details of her life—a life that seems strangely empty of Brandon, and strangely full of Doug.
I was so excited when this turned up in my mailbox. It seemed liked I’d been waiting for ages since it was shipped. Once I received this I basically bunkered down for the rest of the day and read it in one sitting, oh Jennifer Echols I am in love with your books! Review to come soon.
