Waiting on Wednesday: Still Waters by Emma Carlson Berne

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" is:

Still Waters by Emma Carlson Berne

Release Date: December 20, 2011
Publisher: Simone Pulse
Age Group: Young Adult

Hannah and Colin seem to have the perfect relationship, but as her second-to-last year of school draws to a close and Colin prepares to head off to college, Hannah feels he might be slipping away. She knows they need some real quality time alone if she’s going to hold on to him.

So when she finds pictures of his old family lake house, she secretly schemes to get him there. But when they arrive, he’s not thrilled. Actually, he’s totally freaked out. And though she gets him to relax, his behavior becomes stranger by the day: he disappears for long stretches of the night, has a bizarre breakdown in a nearby diner, and when the car stops running, he seems completely unconcerned about fixing it. The lake house holds secrets, and what Hannah doesn’t know and Colin can’t remember just might kill them both.

STILL WATERS is a riveting, suspenseful, atmospheric thriller by Emma Carlson Berne, author of Hard to Get.

Yes finally it’s a YA thriller, oh I’ve been waiting to read a decent sounding YA thriller since I finished Desires of the Dead and hence because this is my WOW pick I think it will be a decent, nay a fantabulous YA thriller based solely on the sound of the blurb. My mind is reeling with questions, what happened at the lake house? Why is Colin freaked out about it? What secrets are hidden in the lake house? Hmmm questions, questions, questions, I guess the only way to get answers is to read the book which I’ll be doing once it’s released in December, which seems so far away L

Well that’s my “waiting on” pick, what's yours this week?

Same here, I had a few questions popping in my head after I finished reading the summary. What a way to get the readers curious about the book! And Desires of the Dead is just fabulous, so if Still Waters is even a bit like Kim's book, I want to read it! Great pick!

Here's my Waiting on Wednesday picks
I included this one on my TBR list! This really is a thrilling book! Though my eyes ballistic this book will be published this December! It will be a long wait! *sighs*... But I am very much excited to wait for it! Happy Reading! ^^

Signed, seal, and delivered! I'm sold on this. You're right, there aren't many YA thrillers and I'm really excited you made this your WoW. I hadn't heard of it before but I've added it to my wishlist.

Oooh, great pick! I actually hadn't heard of this one so off to my TBR I go to add it. The cover is gorgeous, too!
This looks amazing! I've never heard of it before. New follower, btw! :)
It was nice to see new book.
A book about ghost? or just another contemporary?

my Waiting on Wednesday
I'm always in for a nice YA thriller - there just aren't enough of them nowadays! This one does sound like an intense, breathtaking read. I love it how Collin totally freaks out once he gets at the lake house, and strange things start happening....I wonder if it's a ghost thing, or just coincedence, or someone who's after them...

Take a look at my WoW.
This looks amazing and I hadn't heard of it! Thanks for this great pick, it's now on my TBR. Also the title reminds me of my favorite proverb. "Still waters run deep." It also has an amazing cover.

WoW
Sounds like a great book & I love that cover!

I don't know why but the second I saw the cover I thought she ends up drowning or dun dun dun gets drowned, but those are just my thoughts :D

I do love the cover, its very pretty. Really do want to know what happened at the lake house. Thanks for sharing.

Oooh sounds like a good book! YA thrillers are scarce, so it's always nice to see one featured. I can't wait to read this! The lake house sounds so creepy. So does Colin. I think Hannah got herself into some deep trouble. LOL
