The floods that are currently travelling through Queensland are the worst since the 1974 floods, however many more people will be affected this time around as Queensland is much more populated now compared to what it was in ’74.
Brisbane the capital of Queensland and Australia ’s third largest city is also flooded in parts. For scale just in Brisbane alone it is expected that almost 20,000 homes and 3,500 businesses will be flooded, currently up to 75% of the state of Queensland has been declared a disaster area.

Tens of thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes to evacuation centers. At least 15 people have been confirmed dead and many more are missing, the clean up of this disaster is going to cost billions of dollars.
Below are some amazing images of the havoc the flood has wreaked in parts of Queensland .
