In My Mailbox #24

In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by Kristi @ The Story Siren once a week which explores the weekly contents of your mailbox and books bought.

For Review:

The Twin’s Daughter by Lauren Baratz-Logsted (Bloomsbury USA Children's Books/August 2, 2010)

Lucy Sexton is stunned when a dishevelled woman appears at the door one day…a woman who bears an uncanny resemblance to Lucy's own beautiful mother. It turns out the two women are identical twins, separated at birth, and raised in dramatically different circumstances. Lucy's mother quickly resolves to give her less fortunate sister the kind of life she has never known. And the transformation in Aunt Helen is indeed remarkable. But when Helen begins to imitate her sister in every way, even Lucy isn't sure at times which twin is which. Can Helen really be trusted, or does her sweet face mask a chilling agenda?

Filled with shocking twists and turns, THE TWIN'S DAUGHTER is an engrossing gothic novel of betrayal, jealousy, and treacherous secrets that will keep you guessing to the very end.

Bought:

Fall for Anything by Courtney Summers (St. Martin's Griffin/December 21, 2010)
Cracked Up To Be by Courtney Summers (St. Martin’s Griffin/December 23, 2008)

Okay I’m convinced after reading all of Courtney Summers’ books that Summers is a writing genius, I love her!

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephenie Meyer (Little Brown Books for Young Readers/June 5, 2010)

I was browsing through borders yesterday and lo and behold I found this in the $2 ‘bin’ section, $2!!! Yes only $2 (it was originally $25, well something like that) so I couldn’t help myself, so cheap, oh how I love cheap books.

Across the Universe by Beth Revis (Razorbill/January 11, 2011)

After reading the ARC (yes my review will be posted this week, I feel so lazy but I’ve been doing some volunteer stuff which has kept me very busy and tired) I just had to go and buy the final copy. Unfortunately it’s only available in paperback in Australia so I ordered the hardcover edition online (which was cheaper than the paperback one in Australia, crazy huh? Books in Australia are too expensive, it’s absolutely ridiculous!), it’s so pretty, I love it! Also on the inside of the jacket they have a map of the ship, how cool is that.

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver (HarperCollins/March 2, 2010)

This was another bargain find at borders, it was only $10, I’ve heard good things so I can’t wait to read it.

The Lost Saint (The Dark Divine, #2) by Bree Despain (EgmontUSA/December 28, 2010)

Really enjoyed The Dark Devine so hopefully this will be just as suspenseful as its predecessor.

Fixing Delilah by Sarah Ockler (Little, Brown Books for Young Readers/December 1, 2010)

This one is for the Contemps Challenge, that said I probably would have read it anyway it sounds really good plus I’ve only heard good things about Sarah’s previous book 20 Boy Summer which is still sitting on my TBR shelf at home.

The DUFF by Kody Keplinger (Little Brown [Poppy]/September 7, 2010)

Another contempts challenge book, I’ve been wanting to read this since I first read about it, it just sounds so fun! Plus I love the title.

Won:

Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, Lauren Myracle (Puffin/September 11, 2008)

Thanks to Steph over at My Girl Friday for her amazing giveaway!

Well lost.in.stories is also known as Romy, a 23 year old graduate student from Australia who loves to read.
