In My Mailbox #23

In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by Kristi @ The Story Siren once a week which explores the weekly contents of your mailbox and books bought.

For Review:

Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead (Penguin/December 7, 2010)

Rose Hathaway has always played by her own rules.

She broke the law when she ran away from St. Vladimir’s Academy with her best friend and last surviving Dragomir Princess, Lissa. She broke the law when she fell in love with her gorgeous, off-limits instructor, Dimitri. And she dared to defy Queen Tatiana, leader of the Moroi world, risking her life and reputation to protect generations of dhampir guardian to come.

Now the law has finally caught up with Rose- for a crime she didn’t even commit. She’s in prison for the highest offense imaginable: the assassination of a monarch. She’ll need help from both Dimitri and Adrian to find the one living person who can stall her execution and force the Moroi elite to acknowledge a shocking new candidate for the royal throne: Vasilisa Dragomir.

But the clock on Rose’s life is running out. Rose knows in her heart the world of the dead wants her back… and this time she is truly out of second chances. The big question is, when your life is about saving others, who will save you?

Thanks to Penguin Australia for sending me this review copy! I’ve already finished this, I couldn’t wait I read it (in fact I read it in a couple of hours) I needed to know what was going to happen to Rose and Dimitri and boy I was not disappointed, I mean I wasn’t too happy with the ending between Rose and another character that shall remain nameless but that’s just me being picky, overall I loved it!

Bought:

Matched by Ally Condie (Dutton Juvenile/November 30, 2010)

Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.

The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

I won an ARC of Matched from Penguins ‘Between the Lines’ and absolutely loved it [see my review] so naturally I had to buy myself a finished hardcover copy, it’s so pretty.

If anyone’s interested I have an interview with Ally up on my blog simply click HERE for all the interviewy goodness!

Won:

Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead (Penguin/December 7, 2010)

Yep it’s not a typo I did in fact receive two copies of Last Sacrifice this week, one I wasn’t expecting (the review copy) and another I was, this one, as I won a competition held by Penguin Australia.

Romy @ Lost.in.Stories
Greetings fellow blog readers, welcome to my blog and thank you for stopping by. Now you may be wondering who is lost.in.stories? Well lost.in.stories is also known as Romy, a 23 year old graduate student from Australia who loves to read. I read (maybe devour would be a more appropriate word) largely young adult novels, with a particular love of fantasy and paranormal novels, however I am also a sucker for a good romance.
